Meekatharra Gold Mine
Project Category: Development
-
The gold mine is located near Meekatharra in the Murchison Goldfield of Western Australia and has lots of mining infrastructure in the region.
The historic underground mine is recorded to have produced 27,500t@ 22.8g/t gold during 1903 which is highly significant.
Public records show that during the 1980’s a major gold producer carried out drill programs and estimated a remnant open pittable “probable reserve of 30,195 tonnes at 4.45g/t”. This equates to about 4,320 ounces still left to be mined from surface down to about 35metres depth.
There is evidence to suggest more gold potential with further drilling.
Additionally, there are many promising exploration drill targets within the mining tenement with the potential to provide more resources.
There is plentiful good water available onsite for mining and processing.
Gold is from an vertically standing east-west quartz reef and is visible in the pan. Mineralisation is estimated to be up to 5 metres wide and 200metres long.
Also, major independent gold processing operations within a 20km and 40km radius give multiple options for development.
There is a previously negotiated heritage agreement in place which gives an uninhibited pathway into production.
Ideally the mine would suit a small syndicate of serious miners with earth moving and gold processing experience.
